My name is Valerie and I am an avid card maker. I've been making cards for longer than I would care to remember. I even had a regular article in a card crafting magazines for more than two years. I have always been a huge fan of stationary and greeting cards. I well remember the days of anxiously awaiting a reply to a recent letter I had written to a friend or family member, anxious to hear back about the latest news. I loved to peruse the stationary aisle of the local drugstore or card shop to see the new stuff! While writing and receiving letters in the mail has gone by the wayside, greeting cards, for the most part, have not.
I had left card design behind for a few years in favor of other time consuming hobbies but now I am back and loving the new designs and updated materials out there. I find so many great card inspiration on YouTube that I use as a jumping off point to my own creativity. I seldom copy a card design exactly, though that can work great as well. I am hoping that by seeing and reading about some of my designs, I can help you along your own creative journey.
I primarily purchase my card making items from three companies: Stampin Up, Spellbinders, and Hero Arts. For myself, no one company can provide me with all I need in order to express my creativity. In the posts that follow, I will write about these companies and why I like them so much.
I will also be sharing some of my own cards with some references on materials used in case there is something you would like to duplicate or like I do, use the design as a jumping off point for your own card.
Let's start the journey! It's time to have fun!
